Beyond Borders: Empowering Africa’s Future with AfCFTA – Webinar Series

Renew Capital hosted its signature trade training session, “Free Trade in Africa: What It Means For You,” on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, from 4 p.m. EAT / 3 p.m. CAT, conducted via Zoom. This one-hour session was designed to help participants take advantage of new regional trade arrangements under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). The training covered recent developments in trade liberalization in Africa, the benefits of regional trade, strategies for increasing trade, and tools for facilitating entry into new African markets. Attendees gained insights into developing regional market entry strategies and executing trade plans. Additionally, participants were eligible to apply for customized support for their regional expansion, with no costs for participating.

PACCI Convenes the 1st African Private Sector Hearings (APSH)

PACCI, in collaboration with the AfCFTA Secretariat, convened the inaugural African Private Sector Hearings (APSH) on the margins of the G20 Leaders’ Summit in Johannesburg, South Africa, on 21 November 2025.

The session brought together private sector representatives including UTICA (Tunisia), FEAFFA (Kenya), Baratou (Equatorial Guinea), and DHL to present evidence-based cases on logistics and border efficiency challenges affecting intra-African trade. Participants shared practical insights and policy-relevant recommendations aimed at strengthening AfCFTA implementation.

PACCI Hosts 18th Executive Council Meeting in N’Djamena, Chad, Advancing Regional Trade Dialogue

The Pan African Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PACCI) convened its 18th Executive Council Meeting in N’Djamena, Chad, from March 26–27, 2025. Representatives from Benin, Chad, DR Congo, Ghana, Kenya, and Zambia.

This significant high-level gathering brought together prominent leaders of national chambers of commerce from across the continent to reflect on PACCI’s progress, shape its strategic priorities, and foster deeper cooperation to drive African trade and economic transformation. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Ali Adj Mahamat Seid, President of PACCI and of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Agriculture, Mines, and Handicrafts of Chad (CCIAMA). Held in Chad’s capital, the Executive Council Meeting served as both a strategic working session and a diplomatic engagement opportunity, reinforcing PACCI’s role as a key facilitator of regional economic dialogue.

Certified AfCFTA Implementation Capacity Course

Are you passionate about contributing to the enhancement of cross-border and intra-Africa trade within Africa? The Certification Course on AfCFTA Implementation Capacity was launched October 23rd, 2024.

We invite professionals, business leaders, and trade enthusiasts to take on the self paced 40 hr comprehensive course.

Developed under the ‘Improving the Trade Facilitation Environment (ITFE) in Eastern Africa’ project. This initiative, a collaboration between the Pan-African Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PACCI), Intergovernmental Agency on Development (IGAD), African Development Bank (AfDB) RDGE, and facilitated by the University of Nairobi DEDS , aims to boost technical capacity and knowledge on the AfCFTA.

Highlight

Monrovia, Liberia is the host city for the 7th Edition. Co-organised by PACCI and the Liberia Chamber of Commerce (LCC) under a signed Memorandum of Understanding, the conference brings the Prosperity Africa platform to West Africa for the first time, positioning Liberia as a convening hub for regional trade at a critical juncture in AfCFTA implementation.
