Workshop: Introduction to the Chamber Model Innovation Workshop for PACCI Members

PACCI is organizing a workshop in collaboration with the Dubai Chamber of Commerce titled “Introduction to the Chamber Model Innovation- CMI”. The CMI provides a pathway and tangible solutions for how any chamber could start innovating continuously while putting customers’ needs at the forefront of service development. The workshop will be held virtually on October 5th 2022 at 1pm EAT. We welcome you and the chamber staff to register for the workshop via this Link before 30th September 2022.

CHAMBER AFRICA CONNECT

The project Chamber Africa – Connect aims to deliver real-time connectivity to every chamber of commerce in Africa where business, consultants, media professionals can engage with each other and undertake digital trade to boost Intra-Africa trade.

The immediate objectives of the project are to:

Develop a roadmap for Chambers to efficiently integrate the CMI framework into Chambers’ strategy setting the process to align efforts, create interoperable digital standards, and champion digital transformation within industry.

  • Secure senior leadership commitment through engagement with business leaders and other key stakeholders.
  • Provide technical guidance to the Chambers to set clear and ambitious targets and advise on which actions to start with and the necessary resources required.
  • Provide advisory services for the preparation of a roadmap to accelerate the implementation of Chambers digitalization.

Promote cooperation between the Chambers by developing information-sharing tools that will help SMEs better understand and benefit from the AfCFTA and increase Intra-African trade and investment opportunities.

  • Put in place a AfCFTA Consultation Center dedicated to professional advisory services on AfCFTA issues.
  • Assist Chambers to produce informational material and guides to facilitate trade based on AfCFTA.
  • Offer targeted technical assistance to provide African businesses, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), with an overview of the AfCFTA and relevant AU member states’ legislation affecting their exports to Africa

Promote cooperation between the Chambers by supporting the use of digital technology in all areas of business, fundamentally changing how chambers operate and deliver value to their members.

  • Provide technical assistance and capacity building for Chambers to embrace the enabling environment for digital innovation.
  • Support the availability of high-quality transactional e-services and information systems.
  • Develop manuals to improve coordination and increase international linkages.

Strengthen women business owners’ skills across the spectrum, from basic digital literacy to more advanced use needed to leverage digital technologies to create new business models and enterprises.

  • Identify and offer training and capacity support to women business owners committed to internationalization.
  • Develop training tools to give small business digital skills.
  • Facilitate successful development, deployment, usage, and maintenance of e-services.
  • Facilitate training and communications, targeting women business owners and operators.
